Annual work report
April 26, 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Petar Mandić Foundation. Traditionally, the Foundation publishes a report on its activities for the previous year at the end of April.

Over the past year, the Petar Mandić Foundation has continued to fulfill its mission in the field of education, supporting the concept of the parenting school, and spreading foundation awareness in Serbian society. As in previous years, our activity was primarily focused on supporting the local community of Nova Varoša.
Among the implemented programs and events, we highlight the following:
MAY 2025
Cooperation between the "Petar Mandić" Foundation and the "Laza Kostić" Foundation
Two friendly charities of the institution – the Petar Mandić Foundation and the Laza Kostić Foundation – both dedicated to nurturing knowledge inseparable from virtue, fairness and selflessness, have joined forces in a noble action to raise children's knowledge and raise awareness of the importance of nurturing culture, heritage and spiritual beauty.
Five educational workshops for children were organized in Nova Varoša, explaining the great performers of art and music: Shakespeare and Chopin. The initiative was led by pianist Marina Milić Radović, professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and founder and director of the Laza Kostić Foundation (established in 1991 in London),
Lecture held on Tesla's priestly ancestors
On the day of the prayerful remembrance of Saint Basil of Ostrog, May 12, 2025, as part of the celebration of the day of the Saint Sava Seminary in Belgrade, and in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement with this distinguished institution, the founder of the Foundation held a lecture on Tesla's priestly ancestors. On that occasion, a book in English entitled Nikola Tesla: A Spiritual Portrait was also presented. The lecture was attended by professors and students of the Saint Sava Seminary.
SEPTEMBER 2025
Support for humanitarian action
In the spirit of Christian philanthropy and solidarity, the "Petar Mandić" Foundation responded to a public appeal for help to Milana Minja Nešković, a resident of Novovaro, a mother of two minor children, one of whom has been seriously ill for a long time, and paid a financial contribution of 94,000 (ninety-four thousand) dinars for the purpose of assistance.
OCTOBER 2025
Student scholarship competition announced
On October 15, 2025, the Board of Directors of the "Petar Mandić" Foundation announced a competition for the award of scholarships of 100 thousand dinars to students of technical and related sciences from the territory of the municipality of Nova Varoš for the 2025/2026 school year.
The competition included: conditions for applying for the competition, required documents, deadline for submitting documents, deadline for selecting the scholarship winner, as well as the amount and method of payment of the scholarship.
NOVEMBER 2025
Awarded student scholarship
The Board of Directors of the Foundation made a decision to award a scholarship to Stefan Lojaničić from Akmačić, a 1st year student at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Kragujevac, with an average grade of 5.00 during high school.
DECEMBER 2025
The book Tesla: A Spiritual Character (second, revised and expanded edition) is out of print.
The book is published by the Petar Mandić Foundation, and co-published by the Nikola Tesla Museum and the Bernard Publishing Agency. The printing sponsor of this edition of the book was the Belgrade-based company Gramis. It is planned that all proceeds from the book will be directed towards the construction of an ethno-museum complex dedicated to the priestly ancestors of Nikola Tesla.

Lecture on traffic safety
Jointly organized by the Petar Mandić Foundation and the Saint Sava Theological Seminary in Belgrade, and based on the Cooperation Agreement, a lecture on traffic safety was held for seminary students. The lecture, entitled "Traffic Suffering", was held on February 10, 2025, and the lecturers were: Dr. Vladimir Jevtić (motorcycle safety expert), Duško Pešić (traffic expert) and Damir Okanović (traffic law attorney), who were welcomed on behalf of the seminary staff by Deacon Dr. Đorđe Petrović, professor of dogmatic theology and moderator of the lecture.
MARCH 2026
Literary competition organized to affirm parenthood and family values
The "Petar Mandić" Foundation, in cooperation with the Nova Varoš High School, organized the fourth literary competition in a row on the occasion of the "Professor Borivoje Jelić" literary award.
The competition was held in the premises of the High School in Nova Varoš on March 27, 2026 at 1 p.m. The topic of the competition was "My grandfather told me...". 13 high school students from Nova Varoš participated in the competition. The works were evaluated by an independent expert committee consisting of: professor of Serbian language and literature Mirjana Štrbac, writer and poet Lela Marković, and poet Andreja Miricki.
APRIL 2025
The best works were awarded at the "Prof. Borivoje Jelić" literary competition
The winners of the "Professor Borivoje Jelić" award were Dunja Kovačević (fourth grade student of the high school of natural sciences and mathematics), Anđela Popadić (second grade student of the high school of natural sciences and mathematics) and Emina Krdžević (second grade student of the high school of natural sciences and mathematics). The winners received 10,000.00 (ten thousand) dinars each, as determined by the competition.
Support for a cultural and artistic program that affirms the image of Tesla's ancestors
The Foundation financially supported the play "Đuka", about Georgina Tesla, held on April 23, 2026 at the "Jovan Tomić" Cultural Center in Nova Varoša.
