The first result of the established contact will be a joint lecture on the subject of artificial intelligence, which will be held by Professor Dr. Branislav Kisacanin (on behalf of the Instutute for Artificial Intelligence) and Presbyter Dr. Oliver Subotic (on behalf of the "Petar Mandic" Endowment) at the end of May. The speakers will cover many perspectives, bearing in mind the exceptionally polarized opinions which exist on this subject. Professor Kisacanin will talk about the science-research, the economic and the practical-affirmative aspects of the use of artificial intelligence, while Dr. Oliiver Subotic (who, at one time, managed the Centre for the Study and Use of Modern Technologies within the SPC, the Serbian Orthodox Churh) will talk about the ethical challenges that artificial intelligence presents; he will put forward a critical assessment and offer possible solutions to some of the problems. The lecture will, at the same time, serve to open a broader expert debate about the subject which has the leading world intellectuals locking horns. The lecture will be organized by the Matica Srpska, with the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the "Petar Mandic" Endowment as co-organizers.
