During the "Tesla Days" event held from July 8th to 11th in Belgrade, Sremska Mitrovica, and Sabac, there were dozens of intriguing presentations.
Lecture by Presbyter Oliver Subotic at "Tesla Days"
At the invitation of the organizers, the founder of the "Petar Mandic" Endowment, Archpriest Dr. Oliver Subotic, delivered a brief lecture on the topic "The Significance of the Mandic Family in Tesla's Life."
He spoke about the importance of Tesla's maternal grandfather, the priest-inventor Nikola Mandic, highlighting the intellectual influence of Tesla's uncle, the priest Petar (later Metropolitan Nikolaj) Mandic. He concluded by emphasizing the profound emotional impact of Tesla's mother, Georgina (née Mandic).
Mother Rescues Nikola Tesla from Gambling Passion
Television Hram produced a short media feature about the aforementioned event, which included a segment of Dr. Subotic's lecture. This segment focused on a life episode of Nikola Tesla, in which his mother rescued him from a gambling passion he had fallen into when he was about 20 years old.
The complete lecture by Dr. Subotic regarding the influence of the Mandic family on Nikola Tesla will be made available on the Endowment's webpage as soon as it becomes media-accessible.
