A Musical and Poetic Program Dedicated to Kostic and Shakespeare The organizers of this cultural event were Nova Varos High School, the "Laza Kostic" Found and the "Petar Mandic" Endowment. The program began with an inspiring speech by Mrs. Branka Rakonjac, the director of Nova Varos High School. This was followed by a performance by the charismatic pianist, Professor Marina Milic Radovic. This renowned artist immediately won the hearts of the small but select audience from Nova Varos with her performance. The repertoire included musical compositions by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Mokranjac, accompanied by a poetic program that introduced the people of Nova Varos to the gems of Serbian literature related to Laza Kostic and William Shakespeare. In the literary part of the program, students from Nova Varos High School, winners of the "Professor Borivoje Jelic" Award (which is awarded by the "Petar Mandic" Endowment for the best literary works on the theme of parenthood) also participated. On the same day, during the morning hours, the children of the "Pasa and Natasa" kindergarten received a bilingual coloring book as a gift from Professor Marina Radovic. Dusan Mandic, a Nova Varos entrepreneur, engineer and artist, was the recipient of the book "Tesla's Menu" that evening. Professor Marina Milic Radovic decided to gift it to the first person who solved a mathematical problem related to a particular composition. In return, Mr. Mandic, inspired by Professor Radovic's performance, presented her with his original painting featuring the White Angel fresco from Mileseva monastery. After the program, the participants were guests at a dinner hosted by Vladimir Obucina, the director of the "Petar Mandic" Endowment, and his wife Marina.
