Father Oliver Subotić: Endowment and parenthood are key topics for the survival of Serbs
Priest and Doctor of Science Presbyter Oliver Subotić presented his two books last night - "On Tesla and His Ancestors" and "Word by Word" in the large hall of the parish hall of the Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Dorćol.
The author highlighted the common feature of both books, which is the promotion of the idea of endowment, and emphasized that all royalties from his publications in Serbian, including these two books, are entirely directed to student scholarships of the "Petar Mandić" Foundation, which helps gifted students from his hometown, Nova Varoš.
Speaking about the state of society today, Father Oliver said that endowment and parenting are key topics for the survival of Serbs and particularly emphasized the importance of raising children in the spirit of solidarity and giving, recalling an example from church tradition in which children are taught to "set aside a part of their bread for a guest."
In addition to the author, Dr. Zoran Milivojević and Dr. Branimir Jovanović also spoke about Subotić's two books, further shedding light on the key ideas, their relevance and importance for contemporary society.
Dr. Branimir Jovanović emphasized how valuable it is to return to the original texts and thoughts of the great scientist Nikola Tesla.
He also referred to Tesla's ancestors, speaking about the family heritage and spiritual roots that shaped his life path.
Dr. Zoran Milivojević spoke about the book “Word for Word”, highlighting the issue of the relationship between the Church and the state, and emphasizing that this topic is viewed from a historical and contemporary angle. Dr. Milivojević emphasized man as a social being, but also the apologetic dimension of the book, emphasizing that it brings a reasoned response to contemporary challenges and questions addressed to the Church. At the presentation of the books by Father Oliver, a confrere of the Nevsky Cathedral, the hall of the parish house was filled with an interested audience, who helped to provide scholarships for gifted students by purchasing the books.
