A lecture on traffic safety was held.

In a joint organization of the Petar Mandić Foundation and the Saint Sava Seminary in Belgrade, and based on the Cooperation Agreement, another in a series of interesting and above all useful lectures was held for the students of that seminary.

A lecture on traffic safety

The lecture entitled "Suffering in Traffic" was held on February 10, 2025 at 7 p.m. The guests of the Seminary and the lecturers that evening were Dr. Vladimir Jevtić (motorcycle safety expert), Duško Pešić (traffic expert) and Damir Okanović (traffic law attorney), who were welcomed on behalf of the Seminary staff by Deacon Dr. Đorđe Petrović, professor of dogmatic theology and moderator of the lecture. The aim of the lecture was for the seminary students to acquire basic knowledge in the field of traffic safety, so that they would be more responsible participants in traffic tomorrow, but also so that in the future, as parish priests, they would be able to influence traffic safety in their parish community among those entrusted to their spiritual care.

The seminary students, as future drivers, were presented with the factors that most often lead to fatal consequences in traffic, such as not wearing a seat belt, unsafe speed, using a mobile phone while driving, unsafe motorcycle riding, and driving under the influence of alcohol. The lecture was followed by a lively exchange of views with the lecturers. The seminary students also expressed their views on the deeper causes of unsafe and irresponsible behavior in traffic – specifically, on the passions that lead to traffic accidents, such as anger, pride, excessive drinking, greed, and the like. The general impression is that the lecture was very useful, and that these and similar topics require thorough treatment when it comes to the younger generations.

In accordance with the principle of social responsibility and statutory goals, the Petar Mandić Foundation plans to further develop cooperation with experts in this field, in order to improve general social awareness when it comes to the important area of traffic safety.
