In accordance with the cooperation agreement signed by the "Petar Mandic" Endowment with the Saint Sava Theological Seminary to affirm the dialogue between theology and science, a lecture on acoustics was held for the Seminary's students on October 9, 2024.
Lecture on acoustics at the Saint Sava Theological Seminary
The topic was the complex structure of the human ear and its mechanism of sound registration. The lecturer was Dr. Dragan Novkovic, a full professor at the Academy of Technical and Artistic Vocational Studies in Belgrade and a well-known Serbian expert in acoustics and audio technologies.

The lecturer was greeted with a welcoming speech by Professor Branislav Kedzic on behalf of the rector of the Seminary, who was in Canada that day, and welcomed him, emphasizing the importance of such meetings.
Professor Dragan Novkovic then gave a very impressive lecture, full of interesting details from the field of anatomy of the human ear and the mechanisms with which the Creator endowed it to process signals from the external environment precisely. Dr. Novkovic occasionally connected the topics of acoustics and anatomy with reviews related to apologetics, psychology, and church singing. The entire lecture was accompanied by multimedia content.
Presbyter Dr. Oliver Subotic, who was present in front of the "Petar Mandic" Endowment, moderated the discussion. He then commented with his observations and questions addressed to Dr. Novkovic.
The multitude of student questions, interesting comments, lively dialogue, invitations to Professor Novkovic to give a new lecture, and, finally, the long applause with which the students accompanied the end of the evening, are sufficient indicators of the success of the meeting between the renowned Serbian scientist and researcher in the field of acoustics and audio technology and the students of the Saint Sava Theological Seminary.
