The lecturer, appointed by the "Petar Mandic" Endowment, will be Dr. Dragan Novkovic, a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Belgrade. The topic of the lecture will be: Historical and Philosophical Aspects of Artificial Intelligence.

"Artificial intelligence is rooted in historical and philosophical foundations of modern science, which gave birth to such a technology. This lecture aims to highlight some essential aspects of the historical and philosophical development of science that have the potential to further clarify and shed light on fundamental issues that we are, as a civilization, facing in our current encounter with artificial intelligence technology."
Dr. Dragan Novkovic
About the lecturer, Dr. Dragan Novkovic
Dr. Dragan Novkovic is employed as a professor of Acoustics at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Belgrade.
In addition to his work in Acoustics, he is actively involved in designing and leading international projects in the fields of higher education, science, and culture. He initiated the international project "Quantum Music", which was successfully realized in collaboration with the University of Oxford, the University of Aarhus, and the National University of Singapore from 2015 to 2022.
He is engaged in innovative work in the field of audio technology through research and development of distributed mode loudspeaker technologies and MIDI conversion of physical parameters of acoustic-mechanical systems.
The author has contributed to numerous news articles and TV programs dedicated to topics in applied and fundamental science. He is an active guest lecturer, having delivered a series of lectures both in Serbia and in several European and Asian countries.
He actively collaborates with various artists from both the domestic and international scenes in the production of various musical and audio-visual artistic forms. He co-authored a museum exhibition titled "Acoustics of Sacred Objects in Medieval Serbia", produced by the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade.
He led a team that won the second prize in the competition for Best Technological Innovation in 2017 and represented Serbia at the global competition of the best startup companies in the Creative Industries sector, held in Copenhagen in 2018.
